Diane E. Prout

Diane E. Prout, age 77 of Mt. Pleasant passed away April 12, 2018 at Green Acres Assisted Living Home in Mt. Pleasant after an extended illness.  The daughter of the late Stewart and Ethelyn Oviatt, Diane was born December 11, 1940 in Saginaw.  She was a 1959 graduate of Arthur Hill High School and the attended Central Michigan University where she earned a degree in Education in 1963.  While at C.M.U. she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.

Diane married William A. Prout Jr. on June 15, 1963 and he preceded her in death on September 14, 1994.  Mrs. Prout had been employed by Bridgeport-Spaulding Public Schools as a school teacher prior to her retirement in 1997.  She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw and Taymouth Presbyterian Church.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and at one time was a participant of the American Bandstand Show.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband to attend the various events that their children participated in.  Diane also enjoyed genealogy, playing cards, reading and cooking.

Surviving are 3 sons. William S. (Christina) Prout of Mt. Pleasant, Jason A. (Kristen) Prout of Aurora, South Dakota, and Micah R. (Kerry) Prout of Birch Run; 6 grandchildren, Jaclyn and Alexander Prout of Mt. Pleasant, and Jonathan, Jacob, Kira and Jason A. Prout Jr. all of South Dakota; 3 nieces and nephews, John, Allison, and Laura.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jolyn Hall.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28th at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. in Saginaw with Rev. Ted McCulloch officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
