Joyce passed away peacefully February 20, 2018 with family by her side. The daughter of the late Percy and Dorothy Treanor, Joyce was born October 28, 1927 in Saginaw. She was employed at Sunshine Crackers for 7 years and retired from Profit Foods in 1987 after 25 years of service. Joyce married Stanley Kania on October 29, 1949. Stan preceded her in death in 2009. She was member of St. Francis De Sales Parish, the Altar Society and League of Catholic Women. Joyce spread kindness wherever she went and always made sure everyone was well fed. She looked forward to playing bingo and euchre at the Eleanor Frank Senior Center, #699 U.A.W. Hall, and at Carrollton Village. She loved time spent with family and friends, searching for a good deal, and going for car rides. They had many good times at their 40 acres in Tawas as well as many winters spent in Florida after retirement.
Surviving to cherish her memory are 4 children, Thomas (Lori) Kania of Bridgeport, Vicky Gilbert of Bay City, Valerie Rohde of Bay City, and Cindy Herr of Shepherd; 11 grandchildren, Christina (Scott) Keyser, Shanna Kota, Belinda (Ken) Dey, Melissa (Dave Mayberry) Gilbert, Brian (Sarah) Gilbert, Daniel Rohde, Jennifer Rohde, Vincent (Kristi Marsh) Rohde, Robert (Maryann) Herr III, Raquel Herr, and Jasmine Herr;
15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Betty Meschke, brother-in-law, Fred Wenzel, and cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Richardine Wenzel; sister-in-law, Sophie Tarras and Jacilene Martin, Brothers-in-law, Raymond Kania, Harold Meschke, and Stanley Tarras; and son-in-law Henry Rohde.
The family would like to thank all those involved with her care from Reverence Hospice and Wellspring Memory Care.
