Margaret A. Brownlee, age 83 of Saginaw passed away April 24, 2017 at Covenant Healthcare after a brief illness. The former Margaret Shinn was born July 31, 1933 in Brandon, (Suffolk) England. She married James F. Brownlee on September 17, 1955 in Brandon, England.  Mr. Brownlee served with the U. S. Army for 26 years and the Brownlee’s returned to the United States in 1973 and moved to Saginaw in 1974.  Mr. Brownlee preceded her in death on January 5, 1996.  Margaret loved cooking and baking for her family.  She enjoyed cooking shows along with her NASCAR and reality TV.

Surviving are her children, Debbie (Keith) Best of Saginaw and Jim (Cindy) Brownlee of Saginaw; 3 grandchildren, L.J. Brownlee of Saginaw and Trista and Claire Brownlee of Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Donna Brownlee; many nieces and nephews; and a loving family pet, Mocha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Daisy Maud (Lingwood) Shinn; and her siblings, Vera Rose Rule, Allan Shinn, and Rita May Campbell.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cederberg & Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials in Margaret’s name to the “Covenant Kids” Memorial Fund.
