Florentino "Frank" Alcala

Florentino Alcala passed away January 11, 2019 at the age of 78 years.  He was born January 3, 1941 to Maria del Carmen Sanchez and Julian Alcala in Durango, Mexico.  He married Marcia Marin on October 25, 1976.  Together they had one son, Benjamin H. Alcala.  Florentino worked many years at Grede Foundry where he was known as “Frank” until his retirement.  He was preceded in death by his wife Maria, his mother Maria del Carmen Sanchez, a sister Aurora A. Garcia, and brother Enrique Alcala.

He is survived by his son, Benjamin H. Alcala (Amy); 5 grandchildren, Brittney Alcala-Torrez (Raymond), Danielle Alcala, Monica Alcala, Benjamin H. Alcala, and Anthony J. Alcala; 3 great grandchildren, Raymond Torrez, Jayce Alcala Torrez, Brazil Quinn; his siblings, Luis Ramirez Jr. (Juanita) of Corpus Christi, TX, May Lou (Isa) Curiel of Kingsville, TX, Aurelio Rivera Mendez from Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico.

Mr. Alcala was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, but his true happiness was spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Private Funeral Service was held January 13, 2019 at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel Officiating.
