Frances M. Lopez passed away peacefully June 27, 2017 at Cartwright Hospice Residence at the age of 88.  The daughter of the late Trinidad and Mary Alvarez, Frances was born March 27, 1929 in Merrill.  She was married to John Lopez Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1998.  Mrs. Lopez was employed by General Motors Corp for over 30 years prior to her retirement in 1983.  She was member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, spending time with family, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite old T-V programs.

Surviving are her children, John J. (Elvira) Lopez Jr., Linda (Kevin Pierce) Lopez-Pierce, and David T. Lopez; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Imelda Lopez; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave in Saginaw, Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
