Neumeyer, Wallace “Pete”

Wallace “Pete” Neumeyer, age 89 of Saginaw, Michigan passed away October 16, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare. The son of the late Ludwig and Christina (Knoerr) Neumeyer, Pete was born December 22, 1928 on the family farm in Kochville Township. He married Helen B. Eckstorm on February 16, 1950. He was employed by Bartels Plumbing and Heating sales prior to his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Neumeyer was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church-Amelith and where he served on the Board of Elders and sang in the choir. Pete was a standout baseball player and played many years for the Amelith team of the Bay County Federation Baseball League. He later coached youth baseball and after his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; 5 children, Jeanne (James) Meddaugh, James (Lori) Neumeyer, Connie (Nick) Makl, Paul (Kelly) Neumeyer, and Judy (Doug) Warren; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren, Dustin Kaleyta and Becca Makl; and by 4 siblings, Raymond, Norman, and Delbert Neumeyer and Marion Hahn.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday October 22nd. At St. John Lutheran Church-Amelith with Pastor Stephen P. Starke officiating. Interment at St. John Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday October 21st at St. John Lutheran Church-Amelith from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
