William A. Creller, age 88 of Blumfield Township passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Covenant Healthcare after a brief illness. The son of the late Arthur and Goldie Creller, William was born October 18, 1931 in Saginaw and was a 1950 graduate of Saginaw High School. He later served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War and attained the rank of Sergeant at the time of his Honorable Discharge. William married Mary Lou Mader on October 4, 1975 in Saginaw. He was employed at Tri-City Airport as Chief Inspector for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1991. Mr. Creller was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and maintaining his airplane along with working on his classic cars. He also enjoyed music, especially playing and servicing Hawaiian steel guitars.
William is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; 3 children, Lester (Linda) Creller, William (Carole) Creller III and Dr. Aaron Creller and his wife, Dr. Sarah Mattice; 3 grandchildren, Jeff, Eve Marie, and William Creller IV; and his siblings, Nellie Fish, Norman (Karen) Creller and Dwight (Estela) Creller.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Creller and a sister Ruth Morningstar.
Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. in Saginaw with Fr. Patrick O’Connor officiating. Private interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
