Alvina P. Soto, age 70 of Saginaw passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at McLaren Bay Medical Center.  Daughter of the late German and Alvina Soto, Alvina was born September 23, 1950 in Saginaw.  She was a 1970 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School. Alvina was a stay at home mom before going to work at AT&T where she was employed as an Administrator until her retirement in 2015.  She was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she enjoyed movies, reading and the casino.

Surviving are 2 children, Vivian Hubert, and Woody Love; 5 grandchildren, Octavia Hubert, Mercedes (DeVondre) Anderson, PhaShunta (David Smith Jr.) Hubert, Joseph Williams IV, and Classie Love; 3 great grandchildren, Lucas Williams, David Smith III, and Baby Anderson; siblings, Eduardo (Barbara) Ortiz, Jose (Rosie) Diaz, Silvia S. Valtierra, Dolores Valtierra, Adolfo S. Valtierra, Ernesto S. Valtierra, Raquel S. Valtierra, Olivia (DeWayne) Bivens, Anita (Mark) Fulgencio; Special friend, Mary Ellen Torrez; and dear friends Delia Carmona, Ruby Delacruz, and Essa Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, an infant Silvia Soto Valtierra and Cristina S. Valtierra.

Private Funeral Service will take place Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2020 at Cederberg & Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. in Saginaw with Rev. Fr. Frank Voris officiating. Interment will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon.
