Benito Vargas Jr. age 71 of Saginaw passed away August 26, 2026, at Covenant Healthcare Saginaw. Son of the late Benito and Maria Vargas Sr., Benito was born July 30, 1955, in Saginaw. He was a 1973 graduate of Saginaw High School. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years at the Grey Iron Foundry until his retirement in 2006.

He enjoyed working on cars, road trips, NASCAR Racing, Flea Markets, and visiting the Casino. Benito was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are 4 children, Rebecca Vargas of Saginaw, Christina (Jeremy) DeCaire of Saginaw, Benito (Norma) Vargas III of Texas, and Angelo B. Myles of Saginaw, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 siblings Isabel Morales and Arthur Vargas, he is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 2, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Road in Saginaw with Fr. Alberto Vargas Officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home of Saginaw, 403 N. Michigan Ave. on Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
