Byron J. Wilson, age 78 of Saginaw passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 11:11 a.m. at Healthsource Saginaw following an extended illness. The son of the late Cal and Pauline Wilson, Byron was born August 14, 1945, in Sylvania, Ohio. Byron grew up in Ohio and after High School in 1963 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years prior to his Honorable Discharge. He moved to Saginaw in 1968 and married Michele “Mickie” Sverid on July 21, 1979, in Saginaw.

Byron was employed by Germania Town & Country Club and served as their Golf Pro for 15 years.

He founded the Littlest Angels Golf Tournament and the Littlest Angels Bowling Tournament that raised over one million dollars and was donated to Covenant Hospital RNICU Unit.

Byron is survived by his wife, Mickie Wilson, 2 children, Zak Wilson and Elizabeth “Libbi” Wilson, and 4 grandchildren, Callie, T.J., Kendall, and Connor.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Callie, and by 2 brothers, Marvin and Mike Wilson.
