Charles Varney, age 61 of Saginaw passed away March 13, 2022, at Covenant Healthcare Cooper after a brief illness. The son of the late Hi and Lillian Varney, Charles was born August 7, 1960, in Saginaw. He married the former Kerry E. Vincent on December 21, 2005, in Saginaw.  Mr. Varney was employed in the lumbering business prior to his death. He enjoyed gardening, going on nature walks, and going to the beach to barbeques and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Kerry; his children, Melissa Varney, Jonathon (Katie) Varney, Crystal “Cookie” Varney, Samantha Christian, Faith Christian, and Dustin Rieger; 32 grandchildren including Sara Varney, Caitlyn Aeder, Robert “Bobby” Aeder Jr., Emily Varney, Ariel Varney, and Jonathon Varney II; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Emily (Henry) Oliverez, Dolly Dingman, and Joanne Eberlein; and several nieces and nephews survive.

He was preceded in death by his brothers James, Leroy, Cleve “Booze” and Bobby Varney, and by his father-in-law Michael T. Snider.

Funeral Service will take place 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19th at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral home, 403 N. Michigan Ave in Saginaw with Pastor Ronald Lance officiating.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m.
