Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great Grandfather, brother, and uncle to many nieces and nephews, passed away Saturday July 3, 2021, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness. Age 82 years. The son of the late Joaquina Barsenas and with help, raised by his late grandmother Donasiana Castanon (who was known to all by grandma “Chanita”) Cyprian was born on November 2, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Cyprian was a very humbled, kind, and loving person to everyone he knew. He was devoted to his Catholic Faith. He loved dancing to Mexican music and belonged to Square-Dancing Groups. He loved music and playing his Acoustic Guitar and sang for many years with the St. Anthony’s Choir “Es La Vida” and also in the choir for St. Joseph’s Rainbow Church. He was past honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved traveling and camping with his wife, grandchildren, and family. He loved bowling and was on several leagues in the past. He loved golfing and was proud of the fact he hit a hole in one in his first year of playing! His favorite times were spending time with his family.
Cyprian was a general labor worker for many plants in the bottling industry for well over 20 years, including Shays Water Bottling Company, Town Club Pop and National Beverage Industry also known as the “Pop Shop”. He also worked as an On-Call Transportation Driver for Commission on Aging.
Cyprian is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Candelaria (Connie Ruiz) Barsenas. He is survived by five children; Theodore (JoAnne) Barsenas of California, Alicia (Johnny) Amaro of Saginaw, Anthony (Nora) Barsenas of Saginaw; Angela (Fred) Vasquez of Essexville, Joaquina (Mario Benavides) Barsenas of Saginaw; two special friends, Mark Perry, and Keith Foley; he is also survived by his two sisters Esther Fulgencio, Lucy Craig and one brother Rick (Clara) Sanchez; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many special Godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister Josefina (Johnny) Elizalde and his brother Jesse (Romana) Barsenas and 2 bother-in-law's Jaime Fulgencio, and Dallas Craig.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Fresenius Kidney-Riverside Dialysis, Saginaw County Commission on Aging, especially all the transportation drivers, dispatcher and his special case worker, McLaren Hospice Team and Habitat for Humanity and all others who helped in his care.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Saginaw with Rev. Fr. Frank Voris officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service. There will be a Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday evening.
