Beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Douglas Edward Turner Sr. (Big Doug) of Burt passed away suddenly at the age of 62 on October 9, 2020.
Doug was born in Saginaw, MI on April 11, 1958 to Arthur and Viola (Wonsey) Turner. He worked as a journeyman roofer and retired from the Roofer’s Local 149. He also worked for Diffin Farms in Burt, MI seasonally for several years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, kayaking with his friends, spending time with his family, and gardening.
Doug is survived by his mother, Viola Turner, brothers Todd (Denise) Turner, Terry (Jody) Turner, both of Brant, MI; his children Crystal (Quinton) Ketner of Riverdale, MI, Douglas Turner Jr. of Burt, MI, Ronnie Scott of Florida, Jennifer Hagerty of Whitmore Lake, MI, and Shawn Turner of Burton, MI; his grandchildren Trevor, Trenton, and Taylor Ketner, Logan and Wyatt Stock, and Saige Turner; and many more extended family members and very special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Turner and Wosney, father, Arthur Turner, brothers Artie and Jeff Turner and infant sister, Vikki Turner.
A celebration of Big Doug’s life will take place on October 24, 2020 at Chase’s Pond, 2195 W. Burt Rd, Burt MI 48417 at 12 Noon.
