A new “Angel was received in Heaven”
Saginaw — Esmeregilda Reyna Olivares, age 88 years; a long-time Saginaw resident, died 09/14/2020 at Healthsource Center. Born 04/07/1932 in Uvalde, TX., Married in 1949 to Ernesto G. Olivarez who preceded her.
She is survived by her children: sons; Ernest R. & Jennifer Olivarez, Jose R & (Patricia deceased) Olivarez, Ramon R & Christa Olivares, Juan R. Olivarez (“Sonny” deceased), Ruben R & Maria Olivarez, David R Olivares. Daughters: Perla & Juan Coss, Maria Gilda & Daniel Huerta, Erlinda & Adolfo Martinez, Graciela & Robert Delgado. Esmeregilda also leaves behind 153 grand, great & great- great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters: Pura Davis, Maria Louisa Reyna, with deceased sisters: Elvira Rico, Oralia Arriola, Zoyla Villarreal. Brother Chencho Reyna and deceased brothers: Ramon Reyna, Patricio Reyna, Jesus Reyna, Ramiro Reyna, all of Texas.
She was an active member of St. Joseph Church of Saginaw, serving in the Choir, damas, prayer group for many years and was well loved. She worked for many years in the field of nursing and physical therapy until her retirement.
Esmeregilda loved crocheting/sewing and making blankets for her many loved ones, she enjoyed her chicken wings and fish dinners, “General Hospital” and various T.V. novelas! Her wonderful warm smile warmed the heart! She will be greatly and sadly missed!
Funeral Service will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Frank Voris officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will recite the Rosary at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday followed by sharing of memories from family and friends. Visitation at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
