Frank C. Licht Jr., age 92 of Saginaw passed away March 7, 2024, at Hoyt Nursing Home in Saginaw. Son of the late Frank and Magdalena (Kleinholz) Licht, Frank was born October 28, 1931, in Sandusky, Michigan. After high school graduation, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was given an Honorable Discharge on January 5, 1952.
Frank married the former Dorothy Waggoner on October 11, 1952, in Detroit and she survives him.
Frank was employed by the City of Saginaw in the Electrical Department for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Korean Veterans Chapter #251 and served as the Chaplain and was a Volunteer Deputy in the Aviation Department of the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office. He also did volunteer work at Saginaw Area Nursing Homes. He was a longtime member of Old Town Christian Outreach.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his 10 children, William (Lynn) Licht, Jeanne MacFarlane, Patricia (Gary) Hawver, Linda Pearson, Joseph Licht, Catherine (Mario) Amicucci, Donald (Jeanne) Licht, Douglas Licht, Janet Cole, and Frank (Nikki) Licht, 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, Erin and 2 sons-in-law, Jim MacFarlane, and Bill Pearson.
Funeral Service will take place 5:00 p.m. Wednesday March 13, 2024, at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave, in Saginaw with Pastor Bill Bodnar officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and by the V.F.W. Post 1859.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m.
Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on March 14, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.
