Fred Anthony Marquez

Fred Anthony Marquez, age 56 of Saginaw passed away suddenly October 22, 2019 at home.  The son of the late Freddie and Margarita (Varela) Marquez, Fred was born March 23, 1963 in Saginaw.  After high school, Fred moved to San Antonio and was employed as a prep cook in the restaurant business, from there he moved to Alaska where he worked in the oil industry.  He later lived in Nebraska and was employed by a meat packing plant before returning to Saginaw.

Fred enjoyed fishing, cooking for his friends and watching sports on T.V., especially football and the Detroit Lions.

Fred is survived by 2 sisters, Julie (Adolfo) Morales and Patricia Marquez; 1 nephew, Nathan Morales; and many cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral Service will take place Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church in Saginaw with Fr. Frank Voris officiating.  Friends may visit with the family at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw for visitation on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. where they will recite the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. and visitation to continue at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 until time of service
