Gary L. Turner
Hemlock, Michigan
Gary L. Turner, 76 of Hemlock passed away May 18, 2026, at home following an extended illness. Son of the late William and Maxine (Bradford) Turner. Gary was born on October 27, 1949, in Saginaw. He was a 1968 graduate of Hemlock High School. Gary served with the U.S. Army from 1970 until 1973 with service in Vietnam and Germany prior to his Honorable Discharge.
He married the former Christine Thomas on August 18, 1972, in Germany and she survives him. Gary was employed at Meijers on Gratiot in Saginaw for many years prior to his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Surviving are his wife Christine, 2 children, Renee Sharkey of St. Charles and Greg (Nicole) Turner of Hemlock, 5 grandchildren, Catrina (Shane) Haney, Austin Sherman, Brianna Turner, Braden Turner, and Brooke Turner a great-grandchild Madilynn Haney, siblings, Sharon (Carl) Zabel, Thomas Turner, and Leah (Cliff) Carva, and many nieces and nephews, brothers, and sisters-in-law also survive.
Per Gary’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Graveside Service will take place Saturday May 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Fremont Township Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by VFW Post 1859 and the Michigan Army National Gaurd.
Arrangements were trusted to Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home of Saginaw.
