George Gonzales
Saginaw, Michigan
George Gonzales, age 84 of Saginaw passed away December 29, 2020 at home after a brief illness. Son of the late Guearmo and Stephanie Gonzales, George was born April 23, 1936 in Hondo, Texas. He learned how to play the accordion at age 8 and later formed the Crystal Band and entertained audiences in Mid-Michigan for many years.
George is survived by his children, Catherine Gonzales, Karen Gonzales Moon, and Ron (Cindy Robinson) Dixon; grandchildren, Nicholas Moon, Susan Gonzales, Shane (Sylvia Anne Leidlein) Moon, Ronald Curtis, Adam Moon, Katrina Dixon Cooper, and Alyssa Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Romeo Garcia, Lilly Moon, Hayley Moon, Dalton Dixon, Riley Moon, Jaden Dixon, Seth Cooper, Cierra Medrano, Elizabeth Moon, Ronald Dixon III, Sophia Dixon, and Dillon Dixon; his siblings include Frank, Margie, Lupe, Mingo, Jamie, and Richard Gonzales.
He was preceded in death by his lifelong friend, Darlene Dixon; a granddaughter, Krystal Gonzales Garcia; a great-granddaughter, Alayah Curtis, and a great-grandbaby Moon and an infant sister.
Visitation for Mr. Gonzales will be at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Av., Saginaw, where friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 5th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Cremation will take place at a later date.
