Geraldine M. Poineau, age 79, of Saginaw passed away October 20, 2025, at home following a lingering illness. The daughter of the late Gerald and Margaret Baze, Geraldine was born August 5, 1946, in Saginaw. She was married to Richard Poineau on October 4, 1986, in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2013. Geraldine was employed by Vlasic Pickle Company for 23 years prior to her retirement, Mrs. Poineau was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching movies, trips to the Casino, and playing scratch off tickets.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Julie Russell, and Robin (Clinton Southwell) Moffit, 11 grandchildren including 2 who were very special to Geraldine, Ashley (Christopher) Yuchasz, and Jennifer Carpenter, 9 great grandchildren that she was very close to the ones she saw and had a special relationship with her “Genius” Hunter, and 2 siblings, Nancy and Terry Baze.
I addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Dawn Romero and Melody Brewster, and her brother Ivan Baze, 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica Dawn Romero, and a great-granddaughter Natalie Paige.
Private Services will take place at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Pinegrove Cemetery in Bridgeport next to her husband Richard Poineau.
