Guadalupe Salas, age 90 of Saginaw passed away October 5, 2021, at Covenant Healthcare after a brief illness.
The daughter of the late Jose and Pascuala Martinez, Guadalupe was born February 24, 1931, in San Antonio Texas. She married Manuel M. Salas on February 20, 1950, in Saginaw and he preceded her in death in 2009. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, and traveling.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Lucita (John) Munguia, and Julia (Joseph Gough) Olgine; 8 grandchildren, Gina (Tim) Munguia-Zamora, Olivia Munguia-Gilles, John (Stephanie) Munguia, Dr. Audelia-Munguia, Valerie Munguia, Olga (Simon) Munguia-Castanon, Dr. Christy (Jeremy) Olgine-Bolt, and J.R. Olgine; 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren; a brother, Tony Martinez; a sister, Mary Delgado; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 4 infant children; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Guadalupe was the oldest of 5 living generations.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 8, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish (St Anthony of Padua Church) with Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas officiating. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday October 8th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
