James W. Willard

James W. Willard, age 79, of Saginaw, passed away Sunday March 8, 2026, at the Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw. Son of the late William and Helen Willard, James was born November 10, 1946, in Marlette, Michigan. Jim served with the U.S. Army and was proud of his service in Vietnam.
He was married to the former Karen Wilson in 1986 in Saginaw and she preceded him in death in 2020.
Jim was employed with the U.S. Postal service in Saginaw for many years prior to his retirement. Jim and Karen attended St. Christopher Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing softball with his Brothers-in-law. Jim was an avid golfer.He also liked NASCAR Racing, following the Detroit Sports Teams, University of Michigan football, bowling, and fast cars. Jim was a member of the VFW Post and American Legion Post Saginaw.
He is survived by his children, Jim (Janice) Wilson and John (Nick) Wilson, 3 grandchildren, Tiffany (Brian) Vaiksnoras, Matthew (Erica) Wilson and Jacob Wilson, 1 great-grandson, Vincent Vaiksnoras, 2 siblings, Mary Lee Hudson and David Willard, sisters-in-law, Jean Willard and Linda Willard.
He was preceded in death by brothers John and Ron Willard.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 Michigan Ave. in Saginaw. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor James Harrington officiating. Friends may visit with family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Committal will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Mausoleum following the Service with Military Honors accorded by VFW Post 1859.
