Janet M. Maxson, age 84, of Bridgeport passed away December 6, 2025, at home following an extended illness. The daughter of the late George and Leah Hillman, Janet, was born January 31, 1941, in Saginaw. She was married to Patrick H. O’Brien on May 16,1959, and he preceded her in death in 2003. Janet later married Kenneth Maxson on November 11, 2008, in Las Vegas and he survives her.

Janet was employed at Weber’s IGA Grocery Store in Bridgeport, and also at Sheridan Plaza in Saginaw. She later worked at Ace American Alarm Company prior to her retirement.

Janet enjoyed baking and cooking, playing cards, crossword puzzles, visiting the casino, playing board games, crocheting and needlepointing, and traveling to Florida, Las Vegas and to Northern Michigan.

Surviving is her husband Kenneth, 3 children, Gregory (Susan) O’Brien, Kenneth (Tonya) O’Brien and Wendy (Gerald) Shinsky, 1 stepson Jeremy Maxson, 14 grandchildren, Daniel O’Brien, Donald O’Brien, Richard Rico Jr., Amanda Skalski, Agustin Rico, Mandy O’Brien, Michael Rico, Scott Mansfield, Ryan O’Brien, Ashley O’Brien, Zack O’Brien, Sarah Shinsky, Richard Shinsky, and Jesse Maxson, and many great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother.

No services are planned. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw next to Mr. Patrick O’Brien.
