Janina M. Gehfeld, age 85 of Celina, Ohio passed away June 9, 2021, at Vancrest Nursing Home in St. Marys, Ohio.  Daughter of the late Hendrick and Genonefa (Lorenc) Urbanczyck, Janina was born May 28, 1936, in Krakaw, Poland.  She was married to Ignacy Gehfeld in 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2020.  She was employed at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw for 25 years and would spend many hours volunteering at Saginaw General Hospital.  Janina was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and she loved spending time with her family and friends and helping people.  She was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking, baking, and going for long walks.  She loved people and loved God.

Surviving are 4 children, Andy Gehfeld of Columbus, Ohio, Zbigniew (Yong) Gehfeld of Texas, Irena (Dan Hollinger of St. Marys, Ohio, and Jan Gehfeld of California; 7 grandchildren, Steven Gehfeld, Angela (Joe) Firest, Daniel (Jenn) Hollinger, Samantha (Ben) Taylor, AJ Gehfeld, Andrew Gehfeld, and Isabella Gehfeld; 5 great-grandchildren, Juliet, Elisabeth, Jenavieve, Helen, Danielle, and Joseph; 2 sisters, Kristina Wisniewska and Genia (Mietek) Szymala of Poland; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Christ the Good Shepard Catholic Parish (St. Andrew Church Site), 612 N. Michigan Ave., in Saginaw with Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski officiating.  Entombment will follow at St. Andrew Mausoleum.

Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service at 11:00a.m.
