John J. Barrera, age 73 of Saginaw, passed away June 24, 2026, in Coldwater, Michigan. Son of the late Ralph and Helen Barrera, John was born August 1, 1952, in Saginaw. He married the former Esmeralda Ledesma on March 19, 2010, in Saginaw. John loved music and dancing and was well known musician (Drummer) in the Saginaw area providing entertainment for thousands of people over many years.

He is survived by his wife, Esmeralda, 5 children, Rita (David) Everett, Rosalinda “Roe” Barrera, Ann Elizabeth (Johnny) Jamrog, Stephanie Dahms, and John (Leslie) Barrera Jr., siblings Guadalupe (Fred) Perez, Mary (Richard) Perez, Rebecca (Mark) Gomez, Yolanda Barrera, Jesse Barrera, Linda Barrera and Ramon Barrera, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Ralph Barrera Jr., Robert Barrera and Armondo Barrera, and a special nephew Joe “Tippy” Barrera.

Memorial Service will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 14, 2026, at Living Faith Family Ministries, 1902 Stone street in Saginaw with Pastor Frank Gallardo officiating.
