Louis Alcorta, age 68, passed away January 21, 2026, at home after an extended illness with his family at his side. Son of the late Leopoldo and Gloria Alcorta, Louis was born January 4, 1958, in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School in 1976. Louis was married to the former Johanna Robertson in Saginaw in 1987. He was employed by Dow Corning for 43 years prior to his retirement. Louis enjoyed playing golf, bike riding, music, and going to concerts, following the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, spending time with his grand-children, and taking care of his pet dogs and parrot “CUJO”.

Surviving are 2 children, Jessica Marie Alcorta (Kevin Inman) and Chad Louis Alcorta, and step-daughter Tricia (Lionel) Gabriel, former wife Johanna Alcorta, grandchildren, Isabelle and Leighla Inman, 2 siblings Nora (Armando) Reyes, and Daniel Alcorta (Dawn), and brother-in-law Cresencio Hernandez II, nieces and nephews, Cresencio Hernandez III and family, Rocio Reyes, Dinora Reyes, Patricia (David) Medina and family, Rosendo (Annie) Alaniz and family, Angela Alcorta, Amy Alcorta, and Jeffery Alcorta.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Rose Mary Hernandez, and a niece Linda Hernandez.

Funeral Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Monday January 26th at Cederberg Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. in Saginaw with Pastor Jim Doran Officiating.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m.
