Maria F. Ortiz

Maria F. Ortiz “Aunt Bunny”, age 70 of Saginaw, Michigan passed away July 6, 2019 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper.  The daughter of the late Ignacio and Benita Estrada, Maria was born December 23, 1948 in Saginaw.  She was a graduate of Saginaw High School.  She married Manuel Ortiz on November 23, 1980 in Saginaw.  Mrs. Ortiz was a member of Old Town Christian Outreach Center.  She enjoyed Mexican music, visiting rummage sales and looking for knick-knacks, having different purses, shopping Wal-Mart, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Manuel; 7 children, Esperanza Gomez, Leticia Gomez, Velia (Yolanda Perez) Gomez, Manual Ortiz III, Martin Ortiz, Jose Ortiz, and Casey Gomez; 13 grandchildren, Ashley Gomez, Marissa Mejia, Michael Rosas Gomez, Celestina Gomez, Jessica Aquilar, Alicia Aguilar, Raymond Gomez Francisco Gomez, David DeLeon, Stephanie Ortiz, Julianna Ortiz, Elijah Ortiz, and  Antonio Rodriguez; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Isabel (Librado) Perez, Jose (Cheryl) Estrada, and Elizabeth Estrada; and 2 close friends, Sally and Gladys.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Anthony Gomez; and a sister Carmen Leiton Estrada.

Funeral Service will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. in Saginaw with Pastor Don Dinninger officiating.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
