Maurice Dean Swarthout, passed peacefully on December 8, 2021. He was born in Saginaw Michigan February 5, 1935. He graduated from Saginaw Arthur Hill High School 1955. After high school he worked with his father at Swarthout Drug Store in Saginaw on Genesee Avenue. Maurice later worked as store manager for Cunningham Drug Company in Saginaw and later in Midland. He was a storyteller and authority on the history of Saginaw.

He was predeceased by his father Chester Ashworth Swarthout, mother Marguerite Sunshine Swarthout and five siblings Geraldine Jackson, Bertie Lou Schneider, Florence Miller, Ronald, and Barton Swarthout.

He is survived by his brother Chester Edward Swarthout and many nieces and nephews. Maurice will be interred at Salt River Cemetery, Shepard Michigan on December 10, 2021. To make a memorial contribution the family selected Cardinal Hospice.net
