Melinda Lee Vasquez age 43 of Saginaw, Michigan gained her wings on Monday July 12, 2021, at Medilodge of Sterling.  She was born on March 8, 1978, to Anthony and Carol Vasquez at Saginaw General Hospital.

Melinda was preceded in death by her grandparents, her sister Cecilia Orozco, and a brother Alvin W. Lee Jr.

She graduated from Ruben Daniels in 1996 and was employed at McDonalds and later elevated to a proud Manager at Marathon gas station on S. Michigan. Melinda was in a 17-year relationship and engaged to the love of her LIFE Edward Lamont Blue Sr. She has 5 children Francisco (26), Richard (24), MI ‘Angel (18), Edward (27), and Kenshon (25).

Melinda enjoyed music, supporting friends/family, traveling, shopping and most importantly family TIME. She was also a member of Bike Life of Saginaw and Prom in The City for special needs.  Melinda was and will continue to be in spirit an AMAZING mother, wife (engaged but still holds the title), daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was truly a blessing in this world and touched everyone she came across.  The family would like to thank Covenant Health Care’s 3rd floor for her last visit, you guys were truly amazing with her, even though this was not the outcome we were expecting at all.  If it has to be this way, we are making the going home just as beautiful as her and huge as her heart.  Melinda was beyond loved by everyone, saying she will be missed is an understatement.  Her love and memories will never fade, she made marks in our hearts that will forever stay.

In addition to her fiancé/husband Lamont Blue she is also survived by her, best friend Tammy (Fred) Hooker, parents Anthony and Carol Vasquez, sisters Melissa Vasquez, Idella (Emmitt) Jenkins, Ebony (C.J.) McCaskey, Amber (Terry) Pratt, Ivory (Duriel) Dottery, Diedra Dottery, Lane Surdock, her brothers  Anthony Green, Gary (Tammy) Camel, Danny (Shylah) Mack, Anthony (Mahogany) Lee, and her 5 children; Frankie, Rich, Mimi, Ed, Shon, many nieces and nephews, aunts and Uncles, and MANY cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave in Saginaw with Pastor Mary Garcia officiating.  Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 until time of service.
