Michael G. Sloan, age 73 of Saginaw passed away Sunday February 19, 2023, at home. Son of the late Samuel and Norma Sloan, Michael was born August 15, 1949 in Olmsted, Illinois. After High School, Michael enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1966 and he served for a time in Vietnam. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1986. While serving in the Army he was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and later while living in Jackson, Michigan he was employed as an auto mechanic and also did carpentry work. When Michael wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing. He moved to Saginaw in 2022 from Jackson.

Surviving are 4 children, Shamire Sloan, Patricia (Malcolm Bell) Blackmon, Glenda (Samuel) Lambert, and Michael Blackmon; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, , Linda (Alee) Holmes,  Vicki (Howard Wade) Sloan-Wade, Anthony Sloan, and Steven (Theresa) Sloan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by a sister, Traci Sloan.

Per Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
