Phyllis Evonne Francis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grand-mother, and friend went to be with her Lord on March 22, 2021. Age 94 years. The daughter of Emil and Mabel (Davidson) Knoedler was born in Farnum, Nebraska August 12, 1926 and moved to Michigan in 1936 with her family.
She married “The Love of Her Life” Bruce William Francis in Owosso on February 6, 1943. They had over 66 years together before he predeceased her on November 6, 2009.
Evonne accepted the Lord in 1945 and served Him faithfully. Evonne taught Child Evangelism, Sunday School, Junior Church, and was on the church board for years. She worked for Buena Vista Township Water Department and then went into Real Estate which she so enjoyed and worked for Westchester Reality in Saginaw.
Surviving is her daughter Karen and Michael Frey, three grandchildren, Kari and Bryan Polhemus, Kimberly and Ryan Silva, and Gary and Cassandra Francis; she is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, and a brother William Knoedler.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary B. Francis; a brother, Gale Knoedler; her sisters Agnes May and Elaine Tennison, and a dear sister-in-law Carolyn Knoedler.
She was proud to say she was a distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln.
Funeral Service will take place Thursday, May 20th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. Saginaw with Pastor Scott McIntyre officiating. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Evonne and Bruce were volunteers at the Saginaw Rescue Mission for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to this organization in the Francis name.
