Passed away December 5, 2016 at Iosco County Medical Care Facility at the age of 97 years.  Raymond Joseph Maleski was born December 25, 1918 in Bay City Michigan.   He married Lorraine Richardson on August 10, 1940 in Goshen, Indiana and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2003.  Ray served with the U.S.  Army from 1940 to 1944 in the European Theater of Operations.

He was employed by Meier Motor Freight as a truck driver for 25 years and retired in 1976.  Ray was a member of the Catholic faith and was a past member of the Rose City V.F.W. Post and the Rose City Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed visiting with people, especially at McDonalds Restaurant.

Ray is survived by 2 children, Brenda R. Peterson of Bay City and James (Shelley) Maleski of Rose City; 5 grandchildren, Tracey (Brian) Herek, Mindy M. Levinson, Bethany (Shawn) Kovach, Paul Maleski and Adam (Erica) Maleski; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Maleski; a son-in-law James Peterson, a grandson, James Maleski, and by 4 brothers and 1 sister.

A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Tawas Bay Beach Resort (Formerly the Holiday Inn) on U.S. 23 in East Tawas.  Full Military Honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. post of East Tawas.  Friends may visit with the family at the Tawas Bay Beach Resort from 12:00 noon until time of service.  All are invited to a luncheon to be served at the resort following the memorial service.  Final entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Saginaw at a later date.  Memorial contributions can be made to Stroke Victims Fund in care of U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor Michigan or to East Tawas V.F.W. Post  Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home of Saginaw.
