Stevie Alejos (Chuck) Medel, born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on November 22, 2022, at the age of 33 years old. 

Stevie was born on November 10, 1989, where he attended Arthur Hill High School.  A family-oriented man, he loved spending time with his two sons and was looking forward to the birth of his daughter. His passions included competing in dog shows, cooking, playing and watching sports, fishing and hunting. Stevie was an artist who had a passion for entertaining others through his music and lyrics.  As the founder of Up North Frenchie’s of Medel Kennels, he poured his heart and soul into ensuring the integrity of the breed. He enjoyed working as a laborer for LiUNA! Local 1098. Stevie inspired many lives and had a great impact on his community such as being the first to host the Cinco de Mayo dog walk.

Stevie is survived by his children Stevie Jr. and Armani; parents, Edward, and Virginia Medel; six brothers and sisters, Sherry Garcia, Christina (Roy) Moreno, Denise (Milton) Oliver, Edward (Mary Anne) Medel, Eric Medel, and Julien Medel; nine nieces and nephews, Nick Garcia, Regina Garcia, AJ Bender, Analia Medel, Eric Medel Jr., Jayden Hamilton, Arieana Medel, Evan Jones and Alayna Medel; mothers of his children, Celisse Godinez and Genna Merino; and, sister-in-law, Sonia Cruz.  

One of his final quotes: “Artist, one of the best breeders, gansta, union worker, whatever you want to call Me lol but before all that I’m a FATHER FIRST I love my boys and I’m setting up their future every day I wake up. Love you Lil Chuck and my dada I always got ya’ll.” – CHUCK

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church 936 N. 6th Ave, Saginaw at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Frank Voris officiating, Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Saginaw. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home 403 N. Michigan Ave. Saginaw and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A vigil service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
