Thomas J. Martin

Thomas J. Martin, age 74 of Bridgeport Township passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital.  The son of the late Sylvester and Laurena (Wenzlick) Martin, Thomas was born June 20, 1945 in Saginaw and was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, he began a 43-year career with General Motors Grey Iron Plant as a machine repairman until his retirement.  Mr. Martin married the former Donna M. Gray on May 28, 1976 in Saginaw.  Thomas enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling to northern Michigan, and visiting the casino.

Surviving are his wife, Donna; 8 children, David (Heather) Martin, Lynn (Brian) McDougall, Tami (Kevin) Delemeester-Gerke, Sherri Lorenz, Keith Martin, Todd Martin, Kirk Martin, and Sandra (Bill) Martin-Ahern; 1 step-daughter, Lisa Gray; many grandchildren and great-Grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald J. (Margaret) Martin and Robert Martin; 5 sisters, Barbara Young, Marie (Gary) Esler, Elizabeth Holzwart, Theresa Kress, and Rosemary Martin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, James Martin, Delores, Martin, and Kathleen Balch.

Funeral Service will take place 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. in Saginaw.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
