Timothy Jude Katz of Freeland Michigan passed away peacefully October 26, 2022, surrounded by his family at the age of 76 years. Tim was the son of the late Daniel and Rita Katz and was born on May 19, 1946, in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School. He married the love of his life Marcia M. Root on July 21, 2002, in Freeland. Tim was self employed as a Master Plumber and owned Tim Katz Plumbing and Heating. Tim was of the Catholic faith. He loved golfing, was an avid skier, loved riding on his lawn mower, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed hunting with his nephews. Tim had artistic abilities with woods and metals.
Surviving is his wife Marcy, his children, Michael Katz, Jodi (Ben) Temple, grandchildren, Nicole (her Fiancé Ryan) Ennest, Katarina Temple, Step granddaughter Kalen, and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Mary (Joe) Pasak of Florida, Madonna Gitchell of Saginaw and 1 brother Mick (Mon) Katz of Florida, his sisters-in-laws, Rachel Katz of Florida, Judy Root and Deb Jones and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Delores (Albert) Gibson, Marilyn (Raymond) Pogue, his brothers Joe Katz of Florida and Richard (Kay) Katz, his brother-in-laws John Root, Jon Gitchell, Parent in laws Robert and Mildred Singelyn.
Tim loved all his pets unconditionally and is survived by his Great Dane Cooper and his cats Marie, Thom, and Motor.
The family of Tim’s would like to extend a heartful thanks to the staff of Covenant Cooper who lovingly took care of Tim, and a special thank you to Teresa and Mike Knoll.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday October 29, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service, at 6:00 p.m. at the Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave, Saginaw with Fr. Jack Johnson Officiating
Interment will take place at a later date at the Oakhurst Cemetery in Whitehall, Michigan
